American pizza chain Little Caesars enters Malaysia, eyes nationwide expansion

American pizza chain Little Caesars has officially entered the Malaysian market, opening its first restaurant in Damansara as part of a broader regional expansion strategy that will see additional outlets rolled out in the coming weeks.

The new outlet, located in Damansara Utama, Petaling Jaya, marks a key milestone for the brand as it continues to scale its international footprint. A grand opening celebration is also planned for July 2026 in Bandar Puteri Puchong, signalling the start of a more aggressive expansion across Malaysia.

Little Caesars is bringing its globally recognised offering to a market already known for its vibrant and competitive food scene. Its entry introduces signature items such as the 'HOT-N-READY Classic Pepperoni Pizza' and 'Crazy Puffs Pepperoni', alongside a range of menu options tailored to local preferences.

These include Malaysian-inspired variations such as the Chicken Hawaiian, 3 Cheese Edge to Edge, and Classic Veggie pizzas, reflecting the brand’s effort to balance global favourites with regional tastes.

“Launching in Malaysia marks an exciting milestone as we continue to grow our global footprint,” said Paula Vissing, president and chief executive officer, global retail.

She added that the brand aims to combine value-driven offerings with fresh ingredients and a strong sense of everyday convenience, aligning with Malaysia’s dynamic food culture and communal dining habits.

The Malaysia expansion is led by franchise partners Vincent Choo and Cynthia Cheong, who bring extensive experience in the quick-service restaurant sector. The duo currently operates multiple QSR brands locally and will be overseeing Little Caesars’ rollout across the country.

They said Malaysia presents strong potential for affordable, high-quality pizza offerings, noting that the brand’s value proposition is expected to resonate with families, young consumers, and busy urban diners seeking accessible meal options.


Beyond its initial opening, Little Caesars Malaysia plans to expand its footprint across key urban centres, leveraging its established operational model built around speed, convenience, and consistency.

With its entry into the country, the brands said the focus will remain on delivering consistent quality while adapting to local tastes as it builds long-term presence in the market.

Founded in 1959 and headquartered in Detroit, Michigan, Little Caesars has built a global reputation as one of the world’s largest pizza chains, best known for its HOT-N-READY format and value-driven positioning.

The brand has had a mixed history in Southeast Asia. It first entered Singapore in 2019 with an outlet at Collyer Quay and later expanded to additional locations, before exiting the market in September 2024 following the closure of its final store at Funan.

Around the same period, Little Caesars also re-entered the Philippines in partnership with Palmtree PH Foods Corp, marking a return after an earlier presence in the 1990s and 2000s. However, that comeback was short-lived, with operations reportedly winding down during the Covid-19 pandemic.

While the brand has not detailed specific reasons for its recent regional exits, its Malaysia debut signals a renewed push into Southeast Asia, positioning the market as a fresh starting point for its next phase of international growth.
