Malaysian budget airline AirAsia has relaunched its 2019 “Holiday Quickies” travel campaign and renamed it 'YASSS to Holiday Quickies' as it looks to reignite the spirit of wanderlust and adventure in Singaporeans when they scream 'YASSS'.

On Clear Channel Singapore's outdoor digital advertising screen at Plaza Singapura, participants who screamed 'YASSS' for 10 seconds could stand a chance to win free flights.

The voice activation game is called PlayLive and is an interactive out-of-home element that engages its participants while also reinforcing AirAsia as a lifestyle brand, according to a statement by the brand.

The launch day saw over 40 free flights to Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand being given away with all expenses paid holiday quickies sponsored by Sabah Tourism and its partners as well as Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Singapore who sponsored accommodations in Sarawak.

“We are excited to relaunch this successful campaign in Singapore with the return of our popular 'YASSS to Holiday Quickies,” said Logan Velaitham, AirAsia Singapore CEO.

“What better way to reintroduce it than partnering with Clear Channel’s interactive voice-activation digital screen to not only get our guests to scream on top of their lungs for free flights, but also get our brand on top of their minds for future travel opportunities,” he added.

As an extension of the 2019 campaign, “YASSS to Holiday Quickies” provides Singaporeans with access to the airline’s network of 130 destinations including 15 direct destinations from Singapore to embrace the beauty of short and re-invigorating holiday getaways.

“As we are back in full swing with frequencies and capacities akin to pre-pandemic levels, with 15 destinations from Singapore, we look forward to flying Singaporeans to their much-needed and well-deserved holiday locations, always at the best-value fares possible,” Velaitham elaborated.

The campaign also provides its consumers with promotional fares that exclude airport tax and fuel surcharges until 6 August 2023 with the travel period between 1 September 2023 and 31 March 2024.

Additionally, Capital A, the holding company of airline AirAsia, launched a new entity dedicated to further enhancing the reach and impact of its AirAsia brand worldwide and has appointed a new CEO to lead it and to drive brand growth globally.

Titled airasia brand co. (abc.), the entity will focus on the primary areas of development, including strategic brand licensing, brand collaboration and merchandising opportunities in the travel-related and lifestyle sectors, as well as content creation which will allow the brand to amplify exposure, reach wider audiences and add tremendous value to the AirAsia ecosystem.
