ING Australia has confirmed the promotion of Carly Yanco to chief marketing officer, elevating a long-serving internal leader to the top marketing role as the bank sharpens its customer and brand strategy.
Yanco joined ING in 2019 as head of brand and was appointed acting head of marketing, brand & stakeholder relations in January 2023.
Prior to joining ING, she spent more than four years with J. Walter Thompson Worldwide, leading strategy and planning across global clients including Unilever, J&J, Nestlé and Kellogg’s. She also spent close to nine years with PR group Burson-Marsteller.

ING has also strengthened its marketing bench with the hire of Luke Tucker as head of product & customer marketing. Tucker steps into the role after more than a year consulting with Salesforce across sales, CX, data and digital.
He brings deep financial services and regional experience, having previously served as Singapore CMO and later as regional head of marketing & brand (APAC & EMEA) at Citi.
The two moves mark a significant step in ING Australia’s marketing leadership and come at a time of intense competition in the banking sector, as the big four flex their strength and smaller, regional players up the ante to challenge their dominance.
