Samsung sings to the tune of K-Pop

Samsung has added K-Pop girl group, SKarf, to its line-up of celebrity ambassadors for the Samsung Galaxy Camera. The list currently also includes MediaCorp artiste, Desmond Tan. As part of the deal, Samsung is showcasing the behind-the-scenes snapshots taken by the girls to its fans. As part of its Samsung ‘I Was There’ campaign, one winner was also chosen as a “Samsung reporter”, to enjoy a shopping spree with SKarf in Gangnam, Seoul on 27 December 2012. Interesting photo highlights of moments taken while they shopped and dined were captured using the Samsung Galaxy Camera and shared on Samsung Mobile Singapore Facebook page.

ACRA appoints branding agency

Accounting And Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) has appointed Globeone Consulting following a pitch which was called late last year. The agency will be tasked to manage consultancy services for branding with an option to handle creative conceptualisation and execution of its marketing campaign for Pro-Tem Singapore Accountancy Council. The account is slated for two months. Also involved in the pitching process were agencies such as Briq, BrandHub and Acacia Design Consultants.

Tupperware appoints new agency

Tupperware has appointed Absolute PR as its agency late December 2012 following a pitch. The appointment is for a year and the agency will be tasked to promote the brand name in the local market. Absolute PR also worked with the company in November last year, handling Tupperware’s first EcoCarnival.

Fighting for a cause

One, a global advocacy organisation that fights poverty and preventable disease, and iStockphoto, the web’s source for user-generated imagery and multimedia, have partnered with crowdsourcing platform Zooppa to launch a competition to raise awareness of the plight of the poor. The “ONE Thing We Agree On” contest will run until 26 February 2013 and it challenges individuals to develop a video or print piece that showcases rivals uniting to fight issues such as poverty, famine and disease.
