Evelyn Tay (pictured left) has stepped down as foodpanda's VP of communications, public affairs and sustainability, APAC after four years in the role. Amanda Goh (pictured right), head of public affairs, has taken over the functional leadership of the team, said foodpanda when MARKETING-INTERACTIVE reached out. She reports directly to John Fang, CEO of foodpanda.

"Tay has left foodpanda after close to four years as the VP of communications, public affairs, and sustainability," said foodpanda.

"During her tenure, Tay had been instrumental in positioning foodpanda as the platform of choice across 11 markets in APAC. She is taking some time off to recharge and travel the world," it said.

In her role, Tay was responsible for all aspects of corporate communications and PR. She was also responsible for public policy and regulatory affairs work across the countries she looked after and managed foodpanda’s sustainability and CSR programmes for Asia.

"Taking this breather was something I have been wanting to do and finally, the time was right - I am still a mega foodpanda champion through and through and wish for the business and my beloved colleagues to continue thriving," said Tay when MARKETING-INTERACTIVE reached out.

In a LinkedIn post announcing her departure, Tay said goodbye to her regional and country PR, public affairs and ESG team and thanked Delivery Hero's leadership and friends who have trusted her with "global public affairs work and the chance to experience wonderful Berlin hospitality."

"For now, I am prioritising [recharging] and travels and if there are interesting opportunities along the way, I'm always open to [checking] things out," said Tay when MARKETING-INTERACTIVE reached out. "It's important to me that it should be a gig I can contribute my experiences to."

Prior to foodpanda, Tay spent over 20 years in the communications field, with senior global and regional positions at multinationals. She was the APAC communications and PR director at Tesla Hong Kong from 2018 to 2019, and the head of communications APAC at Uber from 2014 to 2015.

Her longest role was as SPTS Technologies' corporate marketing director where she was the global lead for all PR and corporate marketing strategies and campaign. She served the role from 2010 to 2014.

Goh, on the other hand, served as foodpanda's lead of public affairs APAC from September 2021 to March 2023, and has been head of public affairs from April 2023.

Prior to foodpanda, Goh was a regional director at White Rook Advisory and a diplomat for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Singapore.

Separately, foodpanda recently onboarded PayMe’s CMO Jaslin Goh as the new APAC vice president of marketing, succeeding Anna Znamenskaya.

Based in Hong Kong, Goh will report directly to Fang. Within her new role, she looks after 11 markets that foodpanda operates in Asia, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and the Philippines.

With over 20 years of experience, Goh will head the regional marketing function and work closely with local marketing directors to drive growth and brand love across Asia.
