OLX.ph tickles Filipino’s funny bones with a hilarious jingle reminding them that their second hand items are treasure troves waiting to be discovered – or in this case, waiting to be posted on the booming classifieds portal. This marks as the ninth video campaign of OLX.ph since its days as Sulit.com.ph. Sulit underwent a rebrand last March following a merger with Cape Town-based OLX Network.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WS7ZzBg2eV8&feature=youtu.beThe jingle is under the overarching “Yesss, Yaman!” campaign first launched in April and is the second video project since the OLX rebrand. Local creative agency OnMedia was behind all nine campaigns.Jean Magboo, corporate communications supervisor at OLX.ph, confirmed that the jingle’s music video can be viewed online, LCD ads inside office buildings and LED billboards. There are no plans yet to air it on national TV but OLX.ph didn’t miss the chance to reach millions of commuters nationwide by playing the infectious jingle on radio. The bubbly girl that has been the lead star of OLX.ph’s "Yesss, Yaman!” campaign returns, jolting a funny crew of characters living in a community called “Barangay Matumal” to its feet.Armand Sazon, managing director of OnMedia, revealed to Marketing that OLX’s quirky ambassador Roxy Araneta, a pre-school teacher, Zumba instructor, entrepreneur and model at Modelli Talent Agency.“Her personality is perfect for the part of encouraging people to sell items they no longer need but others would value. Her positive presence creates this light and easy atmosphere for our communications,” Sazon adds.Asked if jingles still have a place in today tech dominated world, he said:“For me, it is both a song and a mnemonic device produced by brands to communicate and elicit feeling. It is meant to entertain its audience and put them in a mood consistent with a brand's persona. As such, I think it is a valuable asset which the brand can make use of in so many ways: it can be in a music video, digital out-of-home, radio, background music for games, events, and content, etc.”“Music and entertainment will always be a part of our lives. If you think about it, with the new technology and trends that come by, a jingle goes a long way for brands,” he concludes.
