Samsung Malaysia Electronics and Media Prima Television Networks (MPTN) have teamed up to launch a mini drama series titled Amira, which celebrates love and forgiveness.
The mini-series is part of Samsung’s aim to deepen its engagement with Malaysian fans and offer a localised brand experience for the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ smartphone range. The partnership will also see Samsung and MPTN drive other content initiatives surrounding the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the series, which will be available across TV, digital and social media channels via MPTN.
Amira Rose, which premiered during the Raya season, features the elements of a Korean drama series from the character and plot to aesthetic, while preserving the distinct charm of a traditional Malay kampung in the most atmospheric backdrop. Starring popular drama celebrities such as Aiman Hakim and Farah Nabilah, the mini-series also shows viewers new ways to capture their everyday moments using the Samsung Galaxy S9, highlighting some of the innovative features available such as AR emoji, slow-mo and super low light.
According to Elaine Soh, Samsung’s CMO, the collaboration extends its ongoing commitment to inspire people to reimagine the way they communicate, share and experience the world.
“We’re pleased with the storytelling, casting and finishing of this drama with a touch of humor portrayed in Amira Rose. It allows audiences to discover various facets of the connected lifestyle in Malaysia, not only in the way we communicate but also how we relate to love, friendship and family gatherings during Raya which is shown in this entertaining mini-series,” Soh said.
MPTN’s director, sales and strategy Nini Yusof, added that the partnership is established on the foundation of trust towards MPTN’s track record and capabilities to reach the mass Malay audience through our largest integrated media platforms. “We believe the mini-series, Amira Rose has all the ingredients to connect Samsung and Malaysians as we celebrate Hari Raya with a unique experience,” Nini added.
