Ringo Fai, social media director at GroupM Hong Kong, has left the agency to head up digital planning for Saatchi & Saatchi Hong Kong, starting today.
Fai (pictured) left the WPP agency last Friday after more than a year and will be succeeded by Jansen Lu, former insights and content director at CMRS.
Lu’s title at GroupM will be director, social business strategy.
Reporting to Melanie Lo, CEO of GroupM Hong Kong, Lu will lead the social media division and direct strategy developments across four media agencies under the GroupM umbrella including Mindshare, Maxus, MEC and MediaCom.
“In the new role, I will put more focus on emphasising how social media is related to client’s business, tying social media more closely with branding,” Lu said.
“Facebook is undergoing a major shift, putting more focus on media strategies than social elements and its engagement metrics is transforming at a rapid pace.
“Social media will continue to be an exciting area to explore,” he added.
