PRCA names Perspective Strategies' Andy See as new president

The Public Relations Consultants’ Association of Malaysia (PRCA Malaysia) has elected founder and MD of Perspective Strategies, Andy See (pictured), as president until 2020.See, who has close to 20 years of experience in the PR industry, will be replacing Rozani Jainudeen, MD of Weber Shandwick, who served as president since 2013.Meanwhile, the association has also elected three other members to the executive committee (EXCO. Elaine Chuah, executive director of Priority Communications PR has been named VP, while Jacqueline Arnold, MD of Centriq PR has been elected as honorary secretary. Felix Heinimann, CEO of essence Burson-Marsteller has also been elected honorary treasurer.Other newly-elected EXCO members include principal consultant and director of TQPR, Niall Dologhan; VP, client experience of Weber Shandwick, Adli Abdul Karim; principal consultant of Anita Chandran & Associates, Anita Chandran; and chairman of Institute of Public Relations Malaysia - Membership and Publicity Bureau, Syed Mohammed Idid.In a press statement, See said in today's world, PR professionals can no longer operate in silos, hence the need to transform and remain relevant by bringing value to the clients.“Communications is an important element in any organisation; but PR has been and will always remain one of the most powerful and effective tools in reputation building, marketing communications and value creation - and this has not changed,” he said.Formed in 1999, the PRCA Malaysia acts as a platform where local PR and communications practitioners can share their knowledge and experiences to develop the PR industry.
