The Schooling Company (The Schoolings) has appointed CROWD as consultant in preparation for the swimmer’s professional career. The Schoolings currently owns the branding and image rights of Singapore’s first Olympic champion Joseph Schooling. The agency's responsibilities include engagement and liaison of media and partners, as well as searching for an appropriate international sports marketing agency to represent Schooling in the near future. CROWD will also manage the swimmer’s social media platforms and media engagements.Joseph Schooling, a senior at the University of Texas, burst into national prominence in 2011, when he clinched two golds at the South-east Asia Games in Palembang, Indonesia. Since then, he has progressed into one of the top swimmers in the world, and his crowning glory came at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, where he clinched the 100m butterfly gold, the first time a Singaporean has won the coveted medal at the prestigious Games in Olympic Record time and the fastest ever in a textile suit at 50.39.Besides the Olympic gold, the 22-year-old has also amassed 23 SEA Games golds, one Asian Games gold and two bronzes at the Fina Swimming World Championships even before he turns professional.Leading the account is CROWD consultant Rose Tan, who’s had over 30 years of public relations experience. In 1992, she started Rose Tan Agencies (RTA), a sports marketing agency. In 1999, RTA became international when Octagon bought 49% of the firm. Octagon Worldwide currently manages swimming legend Michael Phelps, the most successful and decorated Olympian with 23 gold medals to his name.“I am honoured to work with Joseph and his family to help him make a seamless transition to the next phase of his journey as a professional swimmer. I will do my best to bring in the right partners to turn him into an international sports star," Tan said.
