Pos Malaysia will release a special set of limited-edition stamps, in conjunction with the 93rd birthday of Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad. Each folder set will contain stamps showcasing the prime minister and his wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, as well as the historic moment of his swearing in as Malaysia’s seventh prime minister.
According to group CEO Al-Ishsal Ishak, Pos Malaysia is paying homage to a “prolific icon” of the nation with the stamps, adding that the prime minister has dedicated his whole life to advancing Malaysia. Hence, this is Pos Malaysia’s way of thanking him for his efforts, Bernama reported.
Additionally, RM5 from the sale of every folder set will go to Tabung Harapan, a trust fund created by the government to enable Malaysians to contribute towards the repayment of the nation’s debts. A+M has reached out to Pos Malaysia for comment.
In May this year, Pos Malaysia unveiled 3D hologram greeting cards for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations, after it witnessed success with last year’s AR Raya postcards. Al-Ishsal Ishak said that Millennials are on the look out something different that breaks through the clutter of texting and using social media. Pos Malaysia constantly challenges itself to make its consumers’ experience unique and different, and the new 3D hologram greeting cards demonstrate its “ongoing commitment to innovation”.
