The ONE Fighting Championship (One FC) has called the Mall of Asia Arena its home as it plans to hold more mixed martial arts bouts in Philippines.
In a statement, One FC CEO Victor Cui said that it has inked a deal with the indoor arena to become its “valued venue partner” and promises Filipino fans at least two One FC fights per year.
The Singapore-based mixed martial arts promotion has held three events so far in the country, the first held in August 2012 (NE FC: Pride of a Nation) at the Smart Araneta Colliseum.
The next two bouts took place at the MOA Arena – ONE FC: Rise to Power in May 2013 and ONE FC: Moment of Truth last December. In the last fight, One FC had four major sponsors, namely Yahoo Philippines, Petron, Colt 45 and Resorts World Manila.
“We have an outstanding relationship with MOA Arena. Its facilities are the best in Asia and the past two events ONE FC has held there have both been resounding successes,” Cui said.
Owned by SM Prime Holdings, the Mall of Asia Arena can seat up to 20,000 and has become the venue of choice for sports and entertainment. Cui, however, did not elaborate on the length of the deal.
One FC’s next fight, dubbed ONE FC: War of Nations, is scheduled for March 14 at the Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
