MSA shuffles leadership team, names new president and VP

The Media Specialists Association of Malaysia (MSA) has appointed Yap Chee Weng and Sivanathan Krishnan as president and vice president respectively. Yap is the CEO of Dentsu Media Malaysia and Krishnan is CEO of Trapper Media Group. Krishnan confirmed both the roles to A+M.

Andreas Vogiatzakis, was recently appointed as the CEO of Havas Media Malaysia operations and was formerly the president of MSA. He held the president role since May this year.  He was previously the long standing CEO of Omnicom Media Group Malaysia. Longstanding managing director of VivaKi, Wong Pi Yee, held the role of vice president.

Meanwhile, Yap joined Dentsu Malaysia in 2011 as chief media officer and was promoted to the chief executive role one year later. He is also the chairman of the Auditing Bureau of Circulations in Malaysia. Prior to Dentsu Media Malaysia, he was the CEO of Starcom Mediavest Group Malaysia and has previously worked with industry brand names such as Ogilvy, DDB & McCann.

Krishnan founded Trapper Media Group in 2001, specialising in web, mobile and social media advertising. The agency worked as an affiliate to The Havas Media Group but has since gone separately.
