Lululemon comes to Asia

Sports apparel company lululemon athletica will open its first retail store in Asia in Singapore on Sunday and is set to open a full-blown retail store in Hong Kong by the end of next year in addition to the four showrooms it currently operates in Hong Kong.The brand manufactures yoga apparel for men and women as well as clothing for activities such as running and dancing.Its first store in the region spans 3,700 square feet and is located at ION Orchard in Singapore.A lululemon statement about its foray into Asia said the brand chose Singapore because Singaporeans were very responsive to events organised by the brand's two existing showrooms in the country."Singaporeans have a growing passion for yoga, running, cycling and general health and fitness," the statement said."In addition, Singapore is of key importance to lululemon to serve as a springboard supporting lululemon’s business expansion plans for the Asian market."Source: Press Release
