After its multiple acquisitions earlier last year, Komli Media has restructured its business operations, separating social media from its other operations and also closing two of its offices.Komli Media earlier acquired AdMax Network and Aktiv Digital, merging the two into its business. The offices of Hong Kong and Vietnam were closed because they were not Komli's focus, co-founder and managing director for Komli Southeast Asia Akshay Garg (pictured) told Marketing. He also clarified that the Singapore office, where Komli Media now has its base for Southeast Asia is in full operation.Prior to the acquisitions, the Vietnam office was part of AdMax's operations, and was a small one. Aktiv Digital had offices in Singapore and Hong Kong, with most of its staff based in Singapore, and only two in Hong Kong as well, Garg said.He also confirmed the departure of several senior staff, such as chief revenue officer Chris Pattinson, who previously headed up sales in the region for Aktiv Digital, along with several sales staff from the Hong Kong office.Going ahead, Komli's business will be structured into media, with social media having its own unit. The firm's social media business will be led by Matt Sutton."We believe that a social media will take up a large portion of media spend," said Garg, explaining the decision to split the business accordingly. As for the departures, we realized that under the new structure, some people did not fit in," he said, and the company had made plans to gracefully move them out.At current, Komli has offices in Singapore, Bangkok, Jakarta, Manila, Kuala Lumpur outside its India operations.
