Frozen foods firm Iglo Group, has hired Havas Media as its global media buying agency. This follows the appointment of Havas Worldwide as the group’s global brand positioning and advertising agency in the fourth quarter of 2013.
Havas Media was selected after a pitching process which included Iglo Group’s incumbent agency Carat. The agency declined to comment on the length of the appointment.
Iglo Group’s CEO, Elio Leoni Sceti said that the appointment would give the company an integrated approach to its creative and media communication. “This new approach to our marketing and the Iglo brand is central to our new growth strategy that aims to double the size of the business by 2020,” he added.
Meanwhile, Iglo has also appointed a group chief marketing officer and two senior digital appointments to help deliver its new brand and marketing strategy and increase its digital presence. Luca Miggiano will join the group as CMO. He is currently VP Chocolate for the UK, Ireland and Nordics at Mondelēz based in Switzerland and joins with over 20 years’ experience from leading FMCG brands across Europe including Cadbury, Jacobs Coffee, Kenco, Coca-Cola and Mars.
Also as part of Iglo Group’s focus on digital, a key part of the new business strategy, two new positions have been created. The group’s new head of digital sales is Francis Nicholas, who joined from Procter & Gamble where he was EMEA eCommerce business development leader. The group’s new head of digital marketing will be Jerry Daykin, who joins from Mondelēz where he is currently EU social media marketing manager.
Iglo Group markets and distributes branded frozen food products in 11 countries and is also currently building momentum in Central and Eastern Europe including Russia and Turkey. Its core brands are Birds Eye, Findus (in Italy) and Iglo.
