Every visitor who arrives to Hong Kong through Hong Kong International Airport this summer is guaranteed to win a prize.
That’s according to the Hong Kong Tourism Board, which has earmarked some $400 million in prizes for tourists over the summer period.
It’s all part of a 78-day Hong Kong Summer Fun campaign, which launched yesterday (15 June) as part of a wider regional campaign to attract the short-haul markets.
A highlight of the new campaign is an Instant Mega Draw, which will run every day at the airport during and is armed with more than 2.4 million prizes donated from local retail, dining, hotel and attractions sectors.
On the first day of the Instant Mega Draw, the HKTB gave away a number of prizes, including luxurious cruise holiday package and HK$1,000 spending credit.
HKTB has also partnered with local retailers and merchants to provide e-coupons that can be downloaded from its DiscoverHongKong.com website, the “My Hong Kong Guide” mobile application and a number of other platforms.
Through Hong Kong Summer Fun and large-scale promotions in select short-haul and Mainland markets, the HKTB aims to attract visitors to spend their summer holiday in Hong Kong and boost retail spending.
Hong Kong Summer Fun runs until 31 August. In addition to the Instant Mega Draw, the HKTB is organising another lucky draw at the airport – Return to Hong Kong like a Millionaire. A total of 10 winners will be drawn and can each take one family member or friend to travel to Hong Kong on a four-day, three-night luxury trip.
