Getty Images Names SVP Marketing

Getty Images has appointed Yvonne Chien (pictured) to the role of SVP marketing. She will be replacing Jim Gurke who announced his retirement last month.In her new role, Chien will be responsible for the entire global marketing organisation, overseeing Getty Images' portfolio of brands, including iStockphoto and Thinkstock, as well as all marketing channels and functional disciplines. She has been vice president of marketing since 2010 and has overseen the customer segmentation and digital marketing strategies across the organisation. In 2011, Chien took on responsibility for the overall brand strategy, including the appointment of R/GA London as the company's brand and digital agency of record. Prior to Getty Images, Chien (pictured) held senior marketing positions for various internet companies, including Google and social network, Bebo. She will be based in London and will report to chief operating officer, Nick Evans-Lombe.Chien added, "With our new partnership with The Carlyle Group, ensuring Getty Images is at the forefront of every content creator and every content user's mind will remain paramount."
