Mediacorp has appointed Parminder Singh (pictured) as its chief commercial and digital officer. Singh joins Mediacorp from Twitter, where he was managing director, Southeast Asia, Middle East & North Africa and India.
Singhâ€™s role combines what were previously two separate positions in the company and follows a series of recent hires reflecting Mediacorpâ€™s move to bolster its digital capabilities. Singh has also held appointments at Google as managing director, Display Solution Sales, Asia Pacific, as well as positions in global companies including Apple and IBM, boasting over 20 years of experience in digital business, sales and marketing.
The move will see Singh taking on the roles of Shane Mitchell, Mediacorpâ€™s head of digital, as well as chief commercial officer Jack Lim. According to an internal memo to Mediacorp employees, Mitchell resigned recently following his familyâ€™s relocation to Hong Kong and will stay on in the company for another three months to wrap up a number of development projects. Meanwhile, Limâ€™s last day of service is also in June. He will be on leave until then. Mediacorp CEO Shaun Seow thanked Mitchell and Lim for their contributions to the company.
Explaining the move, Seow said that Mediacorpâ€™s monetisation efforts need to be more closely aligned with its digital product development, operations, audience acquisition and content marketing efforts.

He added that Singh is particularly well-placed to help our clients come up with targeted marketing solutions across our wide range of media.
