EDB names Myrna Poon’s replacement

Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) has appointed Dane Lim as director of marketing and communications, Marketing can confirm. He takes over from former executive director Myrna Poon who joined DBS as senior vice president, head of brand and digital in May.In addition to his new role, Lim will continue his stint as director of external affairs and marketing at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, a role he took on in November 2015. He was previously deputy director of marketing and communications at EDB from 2014 to 2015, and was head of the marketing and communications division prior to that for a period of four years from 2010 to 2014.At Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Lim leads the school’s overall brand and communications strategy. He also handles media relations and develops new strategic partnerships to grow the school’s global reputation as a school of choice for public policy and thought leadership in the school's five research focus areas.Earlier this year, Poon joined DBS after a two-decade long stay with the government agency, where she undertook global marketing and communications responsibilities for Singapore as a business brand. She also managed global strategies to attracting IT companies to invest in Singapore.“Lim is no stranger to EDB, having spent five years with us previously. He has played an integral role in developing our marketing and communications strategies.  We look forward to his leadership to drive marketing efforts in our key markets of Singapore, United States, Germany and Japan.” Yeoh Keat Chuan, managing director, Singapore Economic Development Board, said.
