dimsum has launched its second branded VOD content in a month, tying up with ASEAN travel-focused initiative, GOASEAN which will see the platform offering various travel-related content. This deal comes after dimsum launched branded VOD content from Oh!K earlier this month, in order to bring Korean entertainment content to subscribers in Malaysia and Brunei.
As part of the deal, GOASEAN will offer a line-up of original content including Unseen Malaysia, Go Travel Season 1 to 3, The Eco Traveler, Go Fast or Go Home, Happy Endings, Grand Escapes, Lost at SEA, Off the Hook, Paradise Wedding, Strange Encounters, Supper Heroes, The Halal Foodie, Wedding & Honeymoon Destination, Go Explore and Food Maps series.
In return, dimsum will push GOASEAN’s appeals to a wider audience who are seeking high quality and engaging travel content with Chinese subtitles.
Lam Swee Kim, dimsum’s chief marketing officer said the latest collaboration with regional content partners such as GOASEAN is part of its strategy, in providing better Asian content and also to remain competitive in the local video-on-demand industry.
“We are excited to partner up with dimsum, the latest subscription video-on demand service in Malaysia, to promote tourism to Southeast Asia through our high-quality content. This aligns perfectly with the Government’s effort to embrace an era driven by information, communication technology and digital connectivity. We hope our award-winning original series will provide dimsum subscribers with Southeast Asian content and inspire them to travel more within the region,” said Edwin Raj, senior vice president of sales, marketing and business development at GOASEAN.
Raj also shared that its very first Mandarin original series will premiere on the dimsum platform later this year.
