DDB Group names lead for film and content division

DDB Group Singapore has named Josiah Ng (pictured), content and experiential marketing consultant at Tribal Worldwide Singapore, as head of DDB’s film and content division Telling Stories.

According to his LinkedIn, Ng has been a content and experiential marketing consultant at Tribal Worldwide for more than two years. He is also the creative consultant at Tango5, an agency launched by DDB which specialises in championing social impact. Ng also worked at Siren Pixels and The Esplanade Co.

Together with creative director of social media Benjamin Lee, Telling Stories combines DDB’s film production division with social media engagement as one integrated communications programme. Telling Stories has produced more than 400 film content to date, according to the press statement.

The film and content division provides content creation ranging from short form, such as six second videos, to long form, such as telemovies and drama series across multi-screen formats and social media engagement. The 16-strong team comprises scriptwriters, editors, 3D animators, producers and directors of photography. The new team of producers is led by Bettina Feng, DDB’s head of broadcast. Prior to her new role, Feng was executive producer at DDB, according to her LinkedIn. She also worked at J. Walter Thompson (Singapore) and BBH.

“Telling Stories transforms the way we work with agile, creative and exciting film production. It provides multiple creative formats through an agile framework,” Ng said.

“We are getting into hyper-personalisation content creation – across various media and formats. Having produced over 400 film content in the last one year, we are taking it further in social media engagement. Ng and Lee are the new creative social revolutionaries, with an entire agency backing them,” Chris Chiu, chief creative officer, DDB Group Singapore, said.

Recently, it also named former The Straits Times Life content specialist Natasha Ann Zachariah senior writer for Telling Stories, where she will lead a team of scriptwriters and content creators.
