Damien Cummings takes on digital transformation role with Econsultancy

Digital publishing, consultancy and training group Econsultancy has appointed Damien Cummings as an entrepreneur-in-residence and principal consultant to drive the digital transformation and consultancy business in Asia Pacific (APAC). In his new role, he will oversee Econsultancy’s APAC digital transformation and consultancy projects.The appointment effective in July 2017 and will see him reporting to Jefrey Gomez, managing director, APAC.

Cummings is currently CEO of Peoplewave, a cloud-based HR software company he started after his departure from his role at Standard Chartered Bank, where he was global head of digital marketing. Before that, he was chief marketing officer at Philips APAC and has also worked with other global brands such as Samsung, Dell, Ogilvy & Mather, Citibank, Coca-Cola, NRMA and McKinsey & Company.

According to the company, the entrepreneur-in-residence and principal consultant role is a unique one. It will allow Econsultancy to leverage Cummings’ extensive corporate digital and marketing experience. This includes his current hands-on entrepreneurial skills to provide training and consultancy for start-ups and large corporations that are undertaking their own digital transformation journey. He also brings to the company over 20 years of experience in digital transformation.

His unique experience as a brand-side and agency marketer, as well as an entrepreneur, gives him an added perspective and understanding of the challenges faced by brands in APAC,” Jefrey Gomez, MD, Econsultancy APAC, said.
