CJ E&M, the entertainment arm of South Korean conglomerate CJ, has relocated its South East Asia headquarter to Taikoo Place in Quarry Bay, Hong Kong in a bid to expand the group’s major development plan in Asia.
The company has also appointed Mickey Ong (pictured) as VP, distribution and business development to further expand the company’s channel distribution and business footprints in Asia.
“We are excited to setup our new SEA office in Hong Kong. Its central location in Asia and its well-established economic structure has made Hong Kong a good choice of SEA business hub. We see many growth opportunities for Korean entertainment businesses in SEA,” said Samey Lee, CEO of CJ E&M HK.
“We are also very excited to have Mickey on board. He will spearhead expansion of our regional business from launching new channels to add new business in near future. I am confident that this will bring the company to the next level.” Lee added.
Ong, based in CJ E&M’s South East Asia headquarter in Hong Kong, will be reporting to Sebastian Kim, head of distribution and business development. He will be instrumental for driving channel distribution as well as sponsorship sales in South East Asia including Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, and Myanmar. He will also be responsible for cultivating business opportunities of the company in the region.
