Carlsberg Malaysia's marketing director Juliet Yap steps down

Juliet Yap (pictured), marketing director of Carlsberg Malaysia is stepping down from her role after almost 10 years.A+M understands replacing her is Charles Wong, who was previously the general manager at Red Bull Malaysia. Prior to this, Wong was the marketing director for Southeast Asia for Kelloggs. A+M has reached out to Carlsberg Malaysia for more information on the new appointment.Yap had previously worked with Synovate and Ernst & Young. She first joined Carlsbeg as a market researcher to conduct consumer insights. She then took on several roles in the company including product development and strategy development. Eventually she took on the role as marketing director over three years ago.Under her leadership,  Carlsberg brought back its “Probably The Best Job In The World” campaign . Last year in February, Carlsberg also offered fans a chance to watch the semi-final live in France, fans will get to ‘Play on Pitch’ at Stade de Lyon – the official stadium of the UEFA EURO 2016.Speaking to A+M during an exclusive interview, she explained that during her tenure at Carlsberg, she has worked on various projects due to which she has developed a varied skills set.When asked what are skill sets that that a marketer must possess, she said that the balance between creativity and business analytics is the key. "You need to be creative and not get carried away with the nuances of brand management. Moreover, under your consumers' real need and analyse how you can reach out to them creatively in the most relevant manner.
