Alipay has launched a free health insurance service to allow users under the age of 60 a certain amount of insurance coverage every time they make a payment with their Alipay Wallet.
Dubbed Dabing Wuyoubao (welfare version) (大病無憂寶（福利版), the service is in partnership with Taikang Insurance (泰康保險) to allow users to accumulate their free insurance coverage until it reaches a capaity of RMB 2,000. Users can activate the service by clicking a link, “immediately receive”, in the Alipay app. The service requires no medical examination, and covers users for a year, in which they can file a claim in-app if diagnosed with any one of the 25 major disease specified in the insurance policy. Users also need to upload relevant materials related to the claim.
