Rugby Singapore is on the lookout for a creative and marketing agency, as well as a communications, PR and social agency for the upcoming HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens 2018 tournament. Rugby Singapore is the commercial arm of the Singapore Rugby Union.
In a statement to Marketing, a Rugby Singapore spokesperson said that the appointed agencies will spearhead a seven-month campaign leading up to the event.
“Our aim is to conduct a thorough, transparent selection process and evoke interest across the spectrum of agencies in Singapore,” the spokesperson added. Marketing has reached out to Rugby Singapore for additional comment.
Earlier this year, Rugby Singapore entered a partnership with Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore, enabling Tiger Beer to become the official beer for the event for the first time. Other partners include Principal Partner HSBC, global partner DHL, official timekeeper TAG Heuer. The organisation also partnered StubHub for ticketing.
Rugby Singapore worked with Mediatropy for creative and media agency duties, and Empower for PR duties. The appointments were made in 2015 for an eight-month campaign leading up to the HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens 2016. The company also worked with Sport Singapore, Singapore Tourism Board and agency partners such as Pico and Enterprise Sports Group. It also worked with StarHub in 2016, which allowed StarHub to be the official broadcaster of the HSBC World Rugby Singapore Sevens.
