Ad Summit Pilipinas taps DDB for creatives

DDB Philippines has scooped the creative account for the first Ad Summit Pilipinas  in a pitch which concluded last week.

DDB bested six agencies which includes Havas Worldwide, McCann Erickson, Publicis JimenezBasic, IdeasXMachina, Sinson Lascano Group and Gallardo & Associates.

In a report from the Inquirer last month, Matec Villanueva, CEO of Publicis Jimenez Basic and 4As chair, said the winning agency “will execute the event campaign, from brand identity down to its other creative merchandising permutations on various media channels.”

Marketing confirmed that PR and digital duties have already been awarded and will be announced this week.

Villanueva first revealed Ad Summit Pilipinas during the Kidlat Awards last April, supported by The Philippine Association of National Advertisers (PANA) and the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas (KBP).

Ad Summit Pilipinas is believed to be the successor to the AdCongress of the Advertising Board of the Philippines. The 23rd Ad Congress was originally set for this month in Davao City.

AdBoard chair Bienvenido Niles Jr. cancelled the event last July, citing lack of internal support primarily from the exit of its biggest members. KBP has left the Adboard in 2005 which PANA and an the 4As followed in November 2012 and February 2013, respectively.
