Following a year long process, Swiss-based financial services company Zurich Insurance Group has picked McCann Worldgroup to handle advertising, media and digital marketing globally.
The McCann Worldgroup pitching team included McCann Erickson, MRM and UM. The account is estimated to be worth more than US$10 million.
Incumbent Publicis Groupe as well as WPP agencies were contending in the pitch as well. Publicis was first appointed in 2004 to handle duties in markets such as Europe, North America and Asia.
Last year, Zurich Financial Services Group changed its name to Zurich Insurance Group as the group streamlined its business portfolio to concentrate on insurance.
Zurich Insurance Group also announced its plans to grow across Asia with its campaign titled “Putting the ‘sure’ in insurance”, aiming to introduce the brand to Asia.
