ZoukOut picks PR agency to handle media duties across Asia

Zouk has picked full-service PR agency THE CONFLUENCE to handle media strategy and outreach to Asia, North America and Australia for ZoukOut 2017, following a pitch held in June 2017. The incumbent for the account was Mercury PR. In a statement to Marketing, Zouk said it will be internally handling media strategy outreach in Mandarin speaking countries such as Hong Kong, China and Taiwan.

The new agency has rolled out three phrases of the ZoukOut 2017 line up and will assist in announcing the fourth phase of line up as well as food village partners this week. Zouk said the agency was chosen as it had consistently proven that it was able to execute events and brands globally. The appointment comes as Zouk plans to expand its global reach into Las Vegas.

“After looking through the portfolios of countless PR agencies, we found that THE CONFLUENCE was the most suited for our needs and appetite to take a 17-year-old homegrown festival, global. Having launched global media for festivals such as Wonderfruit in Thailand, the team at THE CONFLUENCE has proven Asia-savvy. At the same time, they continue to retain deep ties with industry players in USA and around the globe, lending them the credence they need to amplify the ZoukOut brand,” Andrew Li, Zouk CEO, said.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be working with ZoukOut this year. They are a festival that we have admired and followed for years now, and it has been an honor to get the chance to work alongside such prestigious and beloved brand,” Russell Ward, founder, THE CONFLUENCE, said.

In September, Zouk appointed digital marketing agency Lion & Lion to handle digital media duties for ZoukOut in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Australia, following a pitch. The agency was chosen for its “strategic thinking and media expertise”.
