Anheuser-Busch InBev has named W+K Shanghai as brand agency for Corona in China. The relationship gives W+K Shanghai full responsibility for overall brand communications, as well as digital and social projects in mainland China.
The news comes after the global brewer tapped Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam as lead agency for the global brand Corona last summer.
“We are very proud to partner with an agency with great strategy and creativity to bring Corona brand to life. With a real and involving experience with consumers, I strongly believe W+K can support our dream to come true!” said Bruno Cosentino, APAC marketing VP of AB InBev.
“With the effectiveness of our global micro-network, W+K successfully facilitates global brands entering local markets. We are thrilled to be partnering with such an iconic brand and are excited for the opportunity to help bring the Corona spirit to Chinese consumer,” said Bryan Tilson, managing director of W+K Shanghai.
In addition to the global and regional Corona assignment, Wieden+Kennedy is lead agency for Bud Light in the United States and for the company’s Skol brand extensions out of Brazil.
