Some consider 360-degree or VR video the next big thing in production, but technology is in a constant state of motion in the online video industry, so marketers need not adopt every new trend, according to veteran video content creator Kaho Yue.Speaking at Marketing’s event "Futurist: the Game Changer" last week, Kaho Yue, managing partner of Visualution Labs said since 360 degree or VR video content has a tendency to go viral, many brands and companies are jumping on this trend. However, Yue suggested marketers need to think twice before adopting these new trends.“Why do you need to use it?” - is the very question Yue always asks whenever someone wants to deploy those new techniques. He believes that when it comes to new technology, it should align with the product or service itself and marketers have to keep in mind how something will benefit their brand."Don't add 360-degree videos to the production mix just for the sake of using 360-degree videos," he said.Naturally, there are good examples of how to use new technology as well. Yue pointed to a BMW-produced 360-degree video ad, in which the car maker enlisted American supermodel Gigi Hadid, and encouraged viewers to keep track of where she is. He explained that this video matches the brand's style and tells a good story at the same time.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfmMAVWK4SwHe suggested sometimes, rather than chasing after viral factors, brands should get back to basics and think about how to craft authentic yet simple stories in order to connect with their customers."A film is recorded at 25 frames per second, but it's more than that because it’s a very good medium to tell stories."[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJ8gnHhkSeY&list=PL6Dja0kVActLaMda3MwWa8cndqaVCaIy_&index=21&t=1s[/embed][embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFLgB52ZuRY[/embed]Visualution Labs labels itself as a creative and production agency, producing content with creative ideas.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSUcRq-4Rm4
