WhatsApp rolls out voice calling feature beta test

WhatsApp has been forced to confirm the beta testing of its long-awaited voice calling feature, after an Android user posted a screenshot of the feature on Reddit.Regions that the new feature will cover remain unclear for the time being, but reports says India is among the first test markets for users of Android devices.[caption id="attachment_82989" align="alignnone" width="537"] Photo courtesy to telegraph.co.uk[/caption]"We are rolling out a beta test of our new voice calling feature to a small number of people," WhatsApp communication lead Brandon McCormick responded to Marketing's inquiry.He added the instant messaging app does not have any plans to charge for voice calls and prefers to keep silent on future monetisation plans.After being acquired by Facebook last October, the app has grown to 700 million users in January this year. The new calling feature will put WhatsApp in direct competition with Viber and Hike.
