Wego appoints new general manager

Wego has appointed Mamoun Hmedan as general manager (GM), Middle East & North Africa (MENA). He will lead the regional team based in Dubai Internet City, heading the launch of a TV advertising campaign targeting Arabic speaking markets across the region.Hmedan first joined Wego in 2013 in the role of manager, media sales - MENA and helped in establishing Wego's media business in the region. He was also involved in the setup of the company's Private Advertising Marketplace, which provides media agencies programmatic access to advertising inventory via trading desks.“On my first day in my new position I’m pleased to announce that Wego’s first TV campaign developed for the GCC and Pan-Arab markets, is now live and airing on MBC’s Al Arabiya News channel,” said Hmedan. “Wego now attracts over two million visitors a month in MENA and our traffic is rapidly increasing. This TV campaign will introduce the Wego brand and product to a much wider audience.”The new Arabic language TV campaign features local talent from around the region and was produced in Dubai by Stargate Studios. It is a series of six commercials that showcase various travel shopping scenarios and traveler types amongst the online traveler segment being targeted.
