WeChat launches first Malay-language TVC

Tencent International Business has officially launched mobile social communication app WeChat by launching its first TVC in Malay language.The free mobile social communications platform supports sending live chat, voice, video, photo and text messages.There are three versions of the Malay language TVC to cater to a larger segment of the local Malay-speaking market.The 30-second TVCs, which feature WeChat ambassadors Lisa Surihani and Shaheizy Sam, will be aired in April 2013 on TV3, TV9, Astro Prima and Astro Ria.The app was launched globally in January 2011 and made available to Malaysians in June 2013."Tencent is committed to providing value to users and enhancing the quality of their lives. WeChat is one way that Malaysians can enjoy the benefits of the value-added internet and mobile services that we provide," said Poshu Yeung (pictured), vice president, Tencent International Business.Tencent International Business also partners with Domino's Pizza. WeChat users who follow Domino's official account are entitled to purchase second regular pizza for RM1 upon redeeming a coupon code at Domino's website and iPhone app. Ba U Shan-Ting, president of Domino's Pizza Malaysia & Singapore, said, the partnership is hoped to encourage Domino's fans to try this free social networking mobile application, which is fast becoming one of the top smartphone apps available.WeChat can be downloaded free of charge on iOS, Android, Symbian, BlackBerry, Windows Phone devices and is available in up to 17 languages including English, Chinese, Indonesian, Portuguese, Thai, Vietnamese, Russian and Bahasa Malaysia.
