Watsons appoints creative shop

Singapore – Watsons Personal Care Store has appointed the Orbital Group as its lead creative agency for the local market.

The boutique agency has been tasked with creative duties for the Watsons chain as well as branding.

A campaign under the new appointment, “Happy New You” (pictured), has already launched across print, in-store and online mediums.

The appointment was made in December last year following a closed-door pitch. Watsons underwent a revamp around the same time last year, dropping the “personal care stores” tagline from its logo.

The chain will continue to promote its stores and products on TV, in print and OOH but Chan told Marketing that there would be a stronger focus on digital platforms.

Orbital Group has a staff strength of 12 and recently appointed ex-country manager of Interpublic Group’s Momentum Worldwide Singapore Daniel Ng as its business planning director. The agency also launched a digital arm, Whitespace Asia this month.

A.S. Watson, parent company of Watsons Personal Care Stores, also recently appointed a new marketing lead, Micheas Chan, after Agatha Yap left the company.
