VLCC gets ‘Bizzy’ in latest acquisition

Malaysia – International wellness player VLCC Group has acquired Malaysian-owned slimming and beauty operation Wyann International, which operates the Bizzy Body, Facial First, Skin Nutrition and Masculine brands here.

Through the acquisition in Malaysia, which marks VLCC’s first foray into Southeast Asia, Wyann International and its brands will retain the current branding as it becomes part of the VLCC Group.

Moving forward, VLCC plans to add more Bizzy Body and Facial First centres and launch VLCC Personal Care line of products.

Sandeep Ahuja (pictured right), managing director of VLCC Group, told A+M that the company hopes to take Wyann to the next level through the acquisition.

“We’ve been looking into SEA expansion for a while now and through our network we came across Wyann, which was also looking for an alliance with a technology partner. We felt that we could fill that need,” he added.

“While Wyann has the infrastructure, excellent management bandwidth and well-known brands, VLCC brings to the table the knowledge about the industry having worked with 10 million customers,” Ahuja said.

He also said VLCC aims to grow the Bizzy Body brand, which was one of the reasons it entered the market, and the other brands in terms of geographic footprint.

VLCC is currently present in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait, with plans to enter Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Kenya.
