Vizeum Malaysia names Chinar Joshi as managing director

Dentsu Aegis Network Malaysia's Vizeum Malaysia has appointed Chinar Joshi (pictured) as managing director, effective April 2018. He succeeds Wong Siew Wai who has moved on to pursue other opportunities and reports to Nicky Lim, CEO, Dentsu Aegis Network Malaysia.A+M understands that Wong will be joining Macomm Management Services, a professional management services company providing services to trade associations and non-governmental organisations in the marketing, advertising and communications industry, as CEO. Current CEO of Macomm Management Services, J Matthews, has confirmed the appointment.In a statement to A+M, Matthews said Wong's appointment is effective 9 April 2018, and will be taking over from him. He added that Wong's main objective as the new CEO is to drive Macomm forward to exceed expectations of current market situation, helm a young team aggressively to drive business and better serve its clients."His experience in the communications industry and close rapport with all media owners will be invaluable in driving Macomm forward," Matthews said, adding that Wong will be reporting to the board of directors.Joshi joined the agency last year as general manager, strategy and has been instrumental in streamlining Vizeum’s operations and driving more integrated marketing solutions for its clients. Joshi was also responsible for overseeing strategic deliverables across the network.Prior to Vizeum, he was at IPG Mediabrands Malaysia, first with Universal McCann in a strategy and planning role, and subsequently promoted to GM to lead IPG’s media agency BPN. During his time at IPG, Joshi managed clients including Johnson & Johnson, CIMB, U-Mobile, Suntory and Cerebos. He has also worked at Wieden+Kennedy and Ogilvy & Mather in India.Joshi said he is excited to leverage Vizeum's global success and products for the Malaysian market, thus driving more commercial initiatives and new revenue streams for the firm."More importantly, backed by a strong team and a great product we are determined to ensure that the agency delivers smart and insightful business solutions to our clients.
