Uniplan Hong Kong names new managing director

Darren Chuckry will take over the managing director role of Uniplan Hong Kong from the long standing Daphne Choi from 1 November, as Choi wanted to "spend more time with family" and "pursue other interests".It doesn't mean Choi will part ways with Uniplan as she will become client services director focused on the exhibition market.“After 24 years with Uniplan, I have decided to take a short break to spend more time with family and pursue other interests,” she said. In her new role as client services director, she will continue to work with key clients and market stakeholders to help grow the exhibition business across Greater China.With over 20 years’ events experience, Chuckry joined the company in 2010 as events director and was promoted to chief client services officer Asia in 2016.As managing director, Chuckry will continue to be in charge of developing both regional and local clients, driving digital transformation within the group and strengthening Uniplan Hong Kong’s presence across Greater China.“I am very excited about the position and the opportunity to lead our efforts in bringing innovation and new technologies to the experiential space,” he said.Christian Zimmermann, group CEO of Uniplan said, “For the past 24 years, Daphne has helped transform Uniplan into one of the largest agencies in Hong Kong whilst turning the Hong Kong office into a creative hub for Greater China. Under her leadership, Uniplan Hong Kong won more than 50 industry awards.”
