Uniplan bets on big Asia expansion

Branding and events agency Uniplan has hired former Text100 Greater China managing director to spearhead an aggressive growth strategy across Asia.TT Yang, an 18-year PR, branding and communications veteran, joins the agency as Asia CEO, with a remit to grow its Asia business to 55% of its global operation in the 2012/13 financial year.In the past financial year Uniplan's Asia operation contributed 45% to its global operation.In a statement, Yang (pictured) hinted there would be a strong focus on strengthening its leadership, talent development, operation efficiency and potentially broadening its offering.The group is banking in sustaining growth in China, where it has increased growth more than fivefold in the past three years.Uniplan's client base includes the likes of adidas, Audi, BMW, Daimler, LG Electronics and Sony PlayStation.The group operates branches in Cologne, Stuttgart, Munich, Hamburg, Basle and Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Shanghai and Taipei.
