Uber and INTI launch pitch to woo business leaders

Aspiring entrepreneurs have pitched over 100 ideas to capture the attention of Malaysia’s top business leaders through #MyUberPitch.#MyUberPitch is an initiative by Uber Malaysia and INTI International University & Colleges (INTI), in collaboration with YTL Communications to promote entrepreneurial spirit amongst Malaysians. The winners are also vying for three fully-paid MBAs from INTI International University & Colleges.More than 100 business ideas were pitched to 20 government and business leaders, while Uber-ing in the Klang Valley on 4 December.Commenting on the start-up scene in Malaysia, Tan Sri Dr. Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah said, “The Malaysian Government is keen to encourage the private sector to enable entrepreneurs to successfully start and grow their own businesses.”Elaborating on the partnership between INTI and Uber in this initiative, Rohit Sharma, INTI’s CEO said, “The partnership with Uber is one of our many creative avenues in rethinking education."The top three winning pitches will be announced at 12 midnight on the 18 of December and each of the winners will be given the chance to pursue a fully-paid, Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme at INTI International University.The top three pitches will be decided by members of the public who can head over to Says.com from 14 to 18 of December to vote for their favourite pitch. These shortlisted videos for the top prizes will be chosen by each business influencer, and the public can also view in real-time to view the statuses of their favourite pitch.Other participating entrepreneurs and industry leaders included Jacob Yeoh, deputy CEO of YTL Communications; Bryan Loo, chief executive officer of Chatime; Leon Foong, general manager of Uber Malaysia; Deborah Priya Henry, founder of Fugee School; Timothy Johnson, vice president of Marketing of INTI International University & Colleges; as well as “Couple-preneurs” such as Roen Cian (The Group) and Carey Ng (National Director of Miss Universe Malaysia) and Vivy Yusof and Fadza Anuar from FashionValet.
