Driven Technologies, a member of the Driven Group of Companies, which owns and publishes paultan.org, CarBase.my and oto.my – has launched an on-demand service for car tinting, TintNOW.my. The website, www.tintnow.my provides a complimentary concierge service, where car owners can purchase their preferred vehicle tint package online, and just wait for the service to pick up their car, carry out the tinting application, and deliver their cars back to them.
In a statement to A+M, the company said its online-based service that comes with complimentary pick-up and delivery service, is the first of its kind in Malaysia. It is conceptualised by the team behind the country’s leading automotive news website, paultan.org.
On its marketing effort, Harvinder Singh, executive director of Driven Technologies said, for now, the company will try to primarily advertise its services digitally, for example via Facebook. Officially launched on 9 October 2017, the service was rolled in Klang Valley, and it is looking at launching in other areas around Kuala Lumpur, as well as a possible mobile application in future (depending on market demand).
By visiting the website, car owners can search the inventory of tint packages, available from RM550 onwards. They are able to access a virtual tool designed to help them gauge the darkness of their selected tint package, along with information on vehicle tint guidelines from the Malaysian Road Transport Department (JPJ). Once a package is choosen, buyers can set their appointment and complete the transaction by making the payment online via approved payment gateways. The entire process, takes a few clicks to complete, on it’s mobile-friendly site.
Its customers can also track purchases via a step-by-step notification process over email and SMS with regards to the pick up and delivery of their vehicles. Security is enhanced further with a staff ID identifier, to eliminate cases of passing car keys to the “wrong” person. Meanwhile, tint film brands that are on board the services include V-KOOL SERENDIPITY, Armourcoat, Solar Gard and Tint-A-Glass films in the intermediate and entry-level offerings.
“Our goal is to solve the most common issues associated with car tinting: the time and hassle involved. Conventionally, one would have to find the right tinting package based on price and location, then book an appointment and spend hours of their time at the tint shop. This can be very troublesome to a lot of motorists,” Singh said.
