Pahang government ties up with Global Ikhwan to lure visitors

The Pahang government has collaborated with Global Ikhwan to promote Visit Pahang Year (VPY) 2017 through its chain of 83 restaurants and cafes internationally. Global Ikwan has over the years been promoting Malaysian cuisine globally.

The restaurant chain confirmed the partnership to A+M. Global Ikwan will provide spaces in its restaurants to display VPY 2017 materials such as logo, posters and brochures, said a spokesperson from Global Ikhwan.

Meanwhile, the Pahang state government will assist to promote Global Ikhwan’s restaurants to Malaysians travelling overseas looking for local delicacies as the company has restaurants in countries such as Australia, Germany, Australia, Thailand, Britain, United Arab Emirates and Jordan.

“If we were to appoint an advertising company to do the promotion, the cost would be enormous. Our cooperation is based on mutual understanding. […] This is in line with our aim to get as much promotion as possible at minimum cost,” Pahang Tourism and Culture Committee chairman, Datuk Seri Mohd Sharkar Shamsuddin told The Star.
