Indonesian telco Telkomsel has launched a pitch to appoint three different agencies to handle duties such as strategic brand lead, creative production agency, and a digital and content agency.
The pitch is being called due to procurement requirements as the telco’s incumbent contracts have “run their course and can’t be extended further”, a statement read. It will be run in three stages – firstly RFI, then chemistry meetings and then RFP, handled by R3. The RFI submissions deadline will be on 14 November 2018, with the pitch being expected to conclude in 1 March 2019.
The incumbents on the account are Leo Burnett and Hakuhodo for creative and Narrada for digital. According to Nirwan Lesmana, vice president of brand and communication of Telkomsel, the pitch is part of the telco’s pla to strengthen its positioning as a digital telco company which is leading in the mobile digital business.
“We are eager to have external marketing partners who are broad minded, strong on consumer insights, who have the ability to elevate Telkomsel brand strategy that is in line with Telkomsel goals, market dynamic and challenges in the coming years,” Nirwan added.
