Subway trends on Twitter for spokesperson's child porn scandal

Subway has found itself in the limelight for all the wrong reasons.The Subway brand is trending on Twitter as its spokesperson Jared Fogle had his home raided as part of a child porn investigation. While nothing is conclusive, it appears Fogle's image has already been severely tarnished.Fogle rose to fame as the "Subway Guy" for more than a decade, having attributed a stunning weight loss to subsisting on Subway's offerings. According to USA Today, Fogle has since starred in more than 300 Subway commercials, and draws about US$5,000 to US$10,000 for personal appearances. He also created the Jared Foundation to fight childhood obesity.Since the investigation, Subway has made this statement on its US Twitter page:Subway & Jared Fogle have agreed to suspend their relationship due to the current investigation. Jared is cooperating with authorities.— SUBWAY® (@SUBWAY) July 7, 2015Meanwhile, the sandwich chain has since been associated with an outpouring of disgusted comments and dirty jokes on Twitter. According to Adweek, Subway is now the top trending topic on Twitter, and "Jared Fogle" is currently the No. 3 trending topic on Facebook.
