The Story Lab Asia Pacific finds new regional lead

Dentsu Aegis Network’s Amplifi has promoted Shuntaro Tanaka to president of The Story Lab Asia Pacific.

In his new role, Tanaka will be reporting to Sunil Yadav, president Amplifi Asia Pacific. The Story Lab is the specialist content agency for Dentsu Aegis Network, with product offerings in the area of original content, content partnership, curation, rights management and content investment. The Story Lab operates globally across 16 countries.

Before taking on this role,  Tanaka held the dual role of chief operations officer for Dentsu media Vietnam and The Story Lab lead in Southeast Asia. Tanaka started his career in the TV Division of Dentsu Inc. in 1997 and handled major Japanese clients and global brands such as Coca-Cola and McDonald’s. With his experience he launched Dentsu media Vietnam in 2012 with the aim of creating a diverse media solution to differentiate Dentsu media in the market. He successfully managed to develop a team that specialised in the media content and sponsorship package development business.

In 2015,  Tanaka brought his media content experience to Europe and ASEAN by expanding a popular Japanese TV format “Ninja Warrior”. This project created new opportunities for developing unique sponsorship opportunities that he will now be able to bring to clients across the region.

Sunil Yadav, president for Amplifi Asia Pacific, Dentsu Aegis Network’s media investment arm, said, “ Tanaka has great experience in content and has built a successful business in Vietnam as well as in Europe through “Ninja Warrior”. With this promotion, we now have a strong regional leadership team across all the four pillars of Amplifi – Investment Management, Partnerships, Programmatic (Amnet) and Content (The Story Lab). These teams will work closely to leverage the convergence and provide unique solutions for our clients.”
