StarHub spotlights five inspiring Singaporeans in celebration of National Day

StarHub has launched its #TogetherWeCan campaign in celebration of Singapore’s 53rd birthday. This includes a spot which showcases five inspiring Singaporeans, in a bid to honour the can-do and never-give-up Singapore spirit.The five Singaporeans chosen come from diverse backgrounds with different sets of challenges to overcome. The first instalment of the series features Lim Seng, team lead of GoSpace, who is seeking contributions to realise his dream of launching the first Singaporean to space next year. Due to bad weather, GoSpace’s earlier launch in May 2018 was postponed.Professional tennis player Sarah Pang is also featured in the campaign. Her story outlines her goals to make a mark in the global arena and place Singapore on the world map. This is by representing Singapore in the Women’s Tennis Association circuit in spite of the challenges that come her way.In addition, the three other personalities featured are those who have been actively working to help improve the lives of people in their community. This includes Sazzad Hossain, founder of SDI Academy who provides basic English education to help migrant workers adapt to Singapore and reduce workplace accidents; Peter Draw, artist and creator of the Ai Movement, who uses his art to spread happiness and inspire children to follow their dreams and Joel Seah, social worker of Care Corner’s CROSSROAD Youth Centre, who guides the youth and teaches them skills that they need to excel in life.The five stories were shared on StarHub’s Facebook page starting 23 July 2018, culminating in a video which portrays the challenges the five have had to overcome while pursuing their dreams.Watch the spot here:Through the move, StarHub hopes to rally all to help these Singaporeans achieve what they have set out to do. As part of the campaign, it is allowing its customers to redeem 53 StarHub Rewards Points and StarHub will contribute SG$5 to the desired cause. It will also provide free viewing of its channels, along with limited-time phone promotions.Donovan Kik, vice president, segment and marketing, StarHub, said that the company is in the business of connecting people and this National Day, it wants to promote togetherness and encourage all to help fellow Singaporeans achieve their dreams."The five Singaporeans embody the can-do spirit and we hope their stories of resilience will inspire many others. We are heartened by the positive response received so far and hope to drive home the message that as long as we try, we can achieve much more," Kik added.
