Social entertainment and gaming publishing house Spiral Media has opened its first office in Petaling Jaya this June, serving as the country’s headquarters.
Working in partnership with IGN Entertainment, it delivers social media and gaming media solutions across popular media environments like IGN Asia Pacific, Askmen.com, RottenTomatoes.com, Farmville, CityVille, DrawSomething and Facebook, as it services the media-buying industry to provide a mix of digital media entertainment.
Scott Wenkart, CEO of Spiral Media, said there is a growing digital divide between networks and publishers and Spiral sits as a premium publisher in the Malaysian market.
According to Wenkart, Spiral is working with major agencies including Universal McCann and Carat in delivering campaigns for their clients. These client brands include 20th Century Fox, Clarins, Johnson & Johnson, Microsoft, Nokia and Taylor’s University.
Other agencies it works with are Starcom, Mindshare, MEC, Mediacom and Zenith.
Spiral has made several hires into its Malaysian team, including Sean Lim as sales manager who joins from Catcha Digital, Nasrun Engku as account executive who joins from M&C Saatchi and Maxime Villandre as chief editor of IGN content and editorial, who joins from Code Masters game studio.
