Sony providing camera test drives as Hong Kong Open official partner

Sony has been confirmed as the official partner of the 2019 Hong Kong Open, with plans to offer tennis-themed games at the venue.Taking place from 5 to 13 October at Victoria Park Tennis Stadium, the Hong Kong Tennis Open will engage spectators even when off the court with a range of activities at the stadium’s Tournament Village.“At Sony, we are thrilled to continue our co-operation with the tournament as the official imaging partner. With world-class action on the court, family-friendly games and activities off it, the tournament will offer visitors many opportunities to capture special moments to treasure for years to come,” said Tomohiro Nakashima, division managing director of Sony Corporation of Hong Kong.At the experiential zone, visitors and members of the press media, will be able to try out Sony’s photographic equipment on display. This includes the newly launched high-resolution Alpha A7R IV Camera, which will be used to capture high-quality photos during the tournament.However, Sony has yet to provide further details of its on-site plans for the event.Added Chris Lai, CEO of the Hong Kong Tennis Association: “One of the most exciting and rewarding elements for tennis fans is to capture the magical moments on and off the court through high-quality photos that they can share with their friends and family on social media and other means. We cannot ask for a better partner than Sony to help capture breathtaking photographs that capture the players’ speed, precision and technique on the court.”
