Ogilvy PR has appointed Rika Sharma as head of Social@Ogilvy. Sharma has served as director of Social@Ogilvy and regional director for Unilever’s digital business for the past 12 months.
She succeeds Jenna Boller, who is returning to North America to drive the Social offering for Ogilvy PR’s West Coast offices. Boller came on board in November 2012.
Sharma has more than a decade of digital and integrated marketing experience, working on both the client and agency side across Asia-Pacific markets, including Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines.
She added that the “continued success” of the agency will come from its ability to “empower everyone in Ogilvy & Mather with the skills to provide social and digital counsel to clients.”
Sharma has been with the agency over three years and also held various roles at Prudential Consulting and Genesis Burson Marsteller.
Sharma will be reporting to Ee Rong Chong. Chong was also recently appointed as the agency’s new managing director in Singapore.
